On Tuesday, Ryan got the news that he is being laid off from Schiess and Associates. I was glad that they trusted him enough to tell him in advance. His last day will be June 18th. At his previous job, employees were surprised with the news by the fact that their computers did not turn on and then they were securely escorted from the building after they were told.
Also, this was the day that I got rear-ended on my way home from church (Anna was in the car too), a few blocks from home. We are fine, but we suspect that the van will be declared a "total" since the repair estimate is pretty high.
So to end a really stinky week, we went with Ryan to Boise, Idaho, a five hour drive away. He had planned to go to a conference to get some training hours for his engineering license. I did not want him to drive there alone, so we decided that we all would go and see the big city. We went to the zoo and hung out at a park while Ryan listened to fun lectures about traffic and construction. The kids had a great time seeing all the animals and playing in the warmer weather (73 degrees versus our 63 degrees).

We are so sorry for the wretched week that you have had. But, we are glad you were able to get away for a bit and have some fun in Boise and go to the zoo. We are praying for you... we love you guys more than you know!
