Cress Creek

On Friday, we (minus Ryan) went on a lovely hike on a nature trail called Cress Creek. It is called that because there is watercress growing in the creek year round due to the year-round natural heating of the water by geothermal processes. (Samara touched the water and said that it was still cold. )

The kids did great on the hike- I would guess that it was about 2 miles, difficult because it is a pretty steep climb for little ones and a chubby chick wearing a baby. We enjoyed a lovely picnic and felt so elated that the weather was not cold or rainy. It was so yucky outside with all of the rain, wind and cold. In fact, we were so disappointed to wake up Thursday morning and find that our entire vegetable garden was dead except for the peas and onions. I had to go and buy new transplants on Saturday to replace everything. Come on Idaho! Get the memo! It is SUMMER!!!!!
